"American Idol" finalist Casey Abrams returned to the hospital, causing him to miss Thursday’s Top 13 results show, reports EW.com’s InsideTV blog. Abrams reportedly suffers from ulcerative colitis.

Abrams, 20, had checked into the hospital two weeks ago, complaining of stomach pains, and reportedly received a blood transfusion at that time, the story says.

"American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest noted on air Thursday that Abrams was again in the hospital, although he didn’t provide any details about the reason, the story notes.

Abrams posted a comment to Twitter after the results show aired, saying, "hey guys, thanks for the well wishes, I got some nice fresh blood in me and feeling better."

He appeared on Wednesday’s edition of the show, getting good reviews from the judges for a rendition of “With a Little Help From My Friends.”
