CBS has given an early renewal to one of its hit sitcoms, and the trouble involving “Two and a Half Men” and its star Charlie Sheen may be one reason, reports Deadline.com.

The show is "How I Met Your Mother," which received an order for two additional seasons, the story says.

This may be the earliest renewal for the show, the article notes, adding that the series usually gets its renewal just before CBS’s upfront. Given the uncertainty surrounding the network’s "Two and a Half Men" and the growing ratings for "HIMYM," the show pulled in a new license fee of about $3.3 million per episode for 20th TV, the story says.

It adds that the cast members are all set to return to the program.
