CBS Tops Sunday Ratings as ‘CSI: Miami’ Surges

CBS’s “CSI: Miami” bucked the trend on a night when broadcast viewing was generally lower, surging 17% from a week ago to lead the Eye Network to an overall win for the night in the 18-49 demo, TVbytheNumbers.com reported.

CBS finished the night with an average rating of 2.5 in adults 18-49, topping NBC (2.0 average), Fox (1.9) and ABC (1.6). CBS also won total viewers, averaging 10.8 million to beat ABC (6.7 million), NBC (6.4 million) and Fox (4.0 million).

At 7 p.m. CBS’s "60 Minutes" had a narrow win over ABC’s "America’s Funniest Home Videos," with an average rating of 1.7 to 1.65 in the 18-49 demo, while NBC’s "Dateline" trailed with a 1.1 in the same demo.

At 8 p.m. ABC’s "Secret Millionaire" earned an average of 2.7 in the 18-49 demo, just a touch better than CBS’s "Amazing Race," which garnered a mean score of 2.65 in the same demo. On Fox, "The Simpsons" and "Bob’s Burgers" logged a 2.5 and a 2.0, respectively, in the 18-49 demographic. NBC’s second episode of "America’s Next Great Restaurant" managed a 1.4 average in the 18-49 demo.

At 9 p.m. CBS’s "Undercover Boss" had the edge over the first hour of NBC’s "Celebrity Apprentice," the former averaging a 2.9 in the 18-49 demo, while the latter had a 2.55 in the same demo. At 9:30, a new "Cleveland Show" on Fox netted a 2.5 in the same demo.

The winner at 10 p.m. was hour two of "Celebrity Apprentice," with a 2.95 average in the 18-49 demo, while "CSI: Miami" on CBS averaged a 2.65 in that demo.
