It’s bad news for a bubble show: A Fox drama that has struggled to find viewers in its Friday night slot slumped to its lowest ratings ever last week, reports EW.com’s InsideTV blog.
The show is “Fringe,” which fell 13% to 3.8 million total viewers and a 1.3 rating among viewers 18 to 49 years old, the story notes.
While ratings were generally down for broadcast shows all week–with the start of Daylight Savings Time and competition from CBS’s college basketball coverage among the factors–an all-time low before the May upfronts isn’t what a bubble show needs, the article notes.
But Fox is hoping to bring back the show, the story notes, adding that “Fringe” is beating the results Fox had on Fridays before moving the show to that night.
Come on Fox, keep Fringe on the air! It’s this generation’s X Files. It’s well written, clever, at times funny, and very original. I NEVER miss an episode! With Medium gone and Smallville about to end, there won’t be anything other that’s so much fun to watch on Fridays.
With that said, new viewers to Fringe won’t have a clue as to what’s going on, as this show is a long arc.
First off, it is Daylight SAVING Time. It is not plural. Check the name of the original law that started it all, way back when.
Secondly, what does Fox expect, moving it to the death knell slot! Put Fringe on at a better location and leave Friday to all reality crap. Hey, move that karaoke thing to Friday!!

I love “Fringe”! It’s my “Gotta see it” replacement for the part of me that got hooked on “Lost”. Great characters, perfectly cast, fun and mind stimulating, well-written, and a show for anyone who loves sci-fi of a different species.
Fringe is a very good show, as is Detroit 187, Blue Bloods and Good Wife. Just being a good show isn’t enough. People have to watch it. The biggest issue Network television has is that no one watches good shows, while crap like Jersey Shore gets renewals. This is why overall ratings are down and more people are watching Netflix streaming and quality shows on Cable.
