HBO has canceled one of its drama series, though the pay network may bring it back in some other form, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker blog.

The drama, "In Treatment,"  ended its third season last year, the story notes. The article adds that although the program won a Golden Globe for Gabriel Byrne, who played a psychiatrist in the series, the show was never a huge hit with viewers. Stars such as Dianne Wiest and Debra Winger had also appeared on the series, it adds.

Nevertheless, the program may continue in a new incarnation, reports Deadline.com.  "It’s true that we have no plans to continue with In Treatment as previously formatted," HBO said in a statement, the Deadline story notes. "However, we are in continued conversations with the executive producers to find another way to continue telling these rich stories."
