"West Wing" writer Rick Cleveland is adapting Barton Gellman’s best-selling biography of former Vice President Dick Cheney, "Angler: The Cheney Vice Presidency," as a miniseries for HBO, reports Deadline.com.
Paula Weinstein will executive produce the project, which will also incorporate elements from "Frontline’s" documentary on Cheney, "The Dark Side." Weinstein has previous experience doing politically oriented films for HBO, having executive produced Jay Roach’s "Recount" in 2008, as well as the Gary Sinise star turn as "Truman" in 1995.
Weinstein is currently working on HBO’s "Too Big to Fail," which examines the 2008 economic crisis.
The project follows the recent announcement that HBO is working on the TV movie “Game Change,” focused on the 2008 presidential campaign of John McCain and running mate Sarah Palin.
