Lara Spencer, co-anchor of the syndicated entertainment news show "The Insider," is returning to ABC’s "Good Morning America" after an absence of seven years, reports TVNewser.com.

Spencer will be the lifestyle anchor for "GMA," covering such topics as family, health, parenting and fitness. Spencer’s previous stint at "GMA" was as a national correspondent. In 2003, she left "GMA" for "The Insider."

Last summer, Spencer was believed to be on the verge of taking over for Mary Hart on "Entertainment Tonight," but a reported clash of personalities between the two stars resulted in Nancy O’Dell snagging Hart’s anchor chair.
