Is the Public Burned Out on Sheen? Tickets to His Live Shows Are Now Going for Less Than Face Value

Early reports that tickets to live Charlie Sheen shows were being snapped up at a ridiculous pace–including tweets from Sheen himself in which he noted that the first two shows had sold out in 18 minutes–may have been a little overstated, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Five days before the Detroit kickoff of Sheen’s Violent Torpedo of Truth tour, tickets were reportedly still available on Ticketmaster. What’s more, the secondary ticket market–Stubhub.com, TicketNetwork.com and others–was apparently inundated with unwanted tickets, some of them priced as low as $21, or about half the face value.

The report said more than 1,250 tickets were for sale on Stubhub.com for Saturday’s show at the 5,000-seat Fox Theatre in Detroit–about one-quarter of the total. Said Joellen Ferrer, a spokesperson for Stubhub: “It seems like there were some buyers who were overly optimistic about the market for Sheen tickets; the supply has definitely outpaced demand.”

  1. Hurray! I have hope for our country that there are still people with sense! (Also happy to see the scalpers getting scalped!)

  3. I’m with you, Julie. Besides, what exactly does Charlie do live? He’s not funny; his writers sure are, but not him. He can’t sing or dance. In fact, except for reading someone else’s lines, he really isn’t that talented.
