John Travolta has agreed to reprise the Vinnie Barbarino character on "Welcome Back, Kotter" that made him a star, for a TV Land reunion featuring the cast of the 1970s ABC sitcom, reports TV Guide.

TV Land will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the show at the TV Land Awards in April. For years Travolta has been turning down the invitation to participate in a reunion.

So far, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs (Freddie Washington), Ron Palillo (Horseshack) and Marcia Strassman (Mrs. Kotter) have said yes, along with Travolta. Gabe Kaplan, who played the title role, and Robert Hegyes, who played Juan Epstein, have yet to sign on.

The TV Land Awards will air on the network on Sunday, April 17.

  1. Ooooohhhh… A “Welcome Back Kotter” reunion. The show sucked when it was first on; bad writing, bad acting… nice them song though!
