A cup-ple things didn’t seem right on-air at WLNE, the ABC affiliate in Providence, Rhode Island, on Tuesday night, March 15, 2011, at 7 p.m.

The station’s 7 p.m. newscast wasn’t on. Instead, WLNE ran an infomercial for the Genie Bra, reports Media Bistro’s TVSpy.

According to the story, "A source tells TVSpy that WLNE [which is currently up for sale] plans to air infomercials in place of the 7:00 p.m. news when the station can sell the spots. So, in other words, the newscast is now a back-up in case nobody wants to buy the 7:00-7:30 p.m. time slot."

The station’s news director, Dan Fabrizio, is quoted in the story saying that the 7 p.m. newscast has not been canceled, but that “From time to time, the station sells that time period.”
