Women in Cable Telecommunications Announces 2011 Touchstone Partners–Comcast, Rainbow Media, Time Warner and Turner Top the List

Women in Cable Telecommunications has announced its 2011 Touchstone Partners, and at the top level the list is made up of WICT’s Strategic Touchstone Partners Comcast, Rainbow Media/WE tv, Time Warner Cable and Turner Broadcasting System Inc.

The organization said its Touchstone Partners are leading corporations within the cable industry that “demonstrate their commitment to gender diversity through this highest level of year-round support of WICT’s research, advocacy and professional development.”

WICT’s mid-level Catalyst Touchstone Partners are Bright House Networks, Cox Communications, Disney and ESPN Media Networks, MTV Networks, NBC Universal, Scripps Networks and Suddenlink Communications.

WICT also cited its Inspire Touchstone Partners, Cable ONE and Insight Communications, and its Industry Partner, the Walter Kaitz Foundation.

"WICT is proud to have such strong relationships with these leading organizations,” said WICT President & CEO Maria E. Brennan, CAE. “Their support clearly demonstrates that they understand and embrace the need for gender diversity and professional training at every level. We are deeply appreciative of the support of our sponsors."

  1. I am not surprised and do not necessarily see this as a leading development in gender diversity. I think women have more than proved they can handle many industries long ago, however, it is great to see that it is recognized and appreciated. 😉
