The production companies behind "Law & Order: SVU" are being sued by actress Rosie Perez, who claims their negligence led to severe neck injuries during her appearance on the program, reports the New York Post.
Perez, who has starred in movies such as "Do the Right Thing" and "White Men Can’t Jump," claims she was injured during a scene that required an actor playing a passerby to grab her as she fights with another woman, the story says. The scene reportedly required many takes, during which Perez alleges she herniated several disks in her neck, according to her attorney.
Her suit accuses Northern Entertainment Productions and DDF Films of "recklessly and carelessly failing to provide skilled performers or experienced stunt personnel.”
Universal, which oversees the program, declined to comment, the piece notes.
