"CBS Evening News" anchor Katie Couric’s last broadcast has an airdate, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which cites an announcement Couric made on Friday’s edition. The telecast is scheduled for this Thursday, May 19.
Substitute anchors will probably rotate in until Scott Pelley takes over permanently on June 6, the story says. Couric is expected to shift to ABC daytime, where she will host a syndicated show that will debut in the fall of 2012, the piece notes.
Couric said Friday that her last day on the program will look back at “some of the amazing stories we’ve covered over the past five years."
