FEARnet Rolls Out New Programming, Sets Up Carriage Deals

FEARnet made a number of programming announcements today, adding that it has secured long-term carriage agreements with Time Warner and Verizon Fios and has begun its linear carriage rollout with Comcast.

With the new agreements, the network said it will be available on Time Warner Cable and Time Warner’s VOD platform beginning in early May, with New York launching VOD on May 9 and both SD and HD linear on May 11; on Verizon FiOS channel 197 nationwide, as well as on the pre-existing VOD offering; and on Comcast Channel 1865 HD, Channel 171 SD in Philadelphia, along with VOD to Comcast’s entire footprint under a pre-existing agreement.

FEARnet announced that it will premiere a new “Twisted Comedy” block Aug. 2 with “Todd and the Book of Pure Evil” and “Psychoville.”

It also unveiled plans for “Movies With More Brains,” a hosted presentation of genre classics and fan favorites, with guest hosts; and “Sinister Sundays,” a weekly 8 p.m. movie event.

“Genre fans are the most passionate fans in the entertainment universe, and we are committed to giving them the best programming in the form of distinctive original series, new television and broadcast premieres, classic films and creative stunts,” said Peter Block, FEARnet’s president and general manager.

  1. I just talked with one of my friends who in the past, got FEARNET on channel 166 through her provider COMCAST. Recently she is not able to access it. Would you have any information regarding the inability to access FEARNET? Is it on another channel? ANy information you will provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks,
