Former Fox News and HLN star Glenn Beck has unveiled plans for the next phase as he rebuilds his media presence following his departure from Fox. Next up for the controversial personality: He’s launching his own network, GBTV, on the Web, reports TVNewser.com.
Beck’s company, Mercury Radio Arts, has filed trademark applications for GBTV, a Web service television channel that will have the motto "The Truth Lives Here."
There’s a logo for GBTV, too. The network will be strictly a Web entity. Beck has hired former Fox News exec Joel Cheatwood for Mercury and insiders say Cheatwood is spearheading GBTV.
In addition to GBTV, Mercury Radio Arts has another Web project launching this week called MarkDown.com, a bargain site in the Groupon.com style.
