An offbeat comedy from New York novelist Sam Lipsyte, who is known for novels such as "The Ask" as well as his work in The New Yorker and Harper’s, is being developed by HBO, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The comedy is called "People City" and focuses on a 25-year-old man who is hired by a couple to be their child’s caretaker.

Lipsyte serves as a writer and executive producer on the project, while Michael London of "Sideways" will executive produce and Jocelyn Hays Simpson of "A Visit From the Good Squad" will co-executive produce, the story says.
