‘Hot in Cleveland’ Elevates TV Land’s Game–Net Adds Advertisers, Eyes More Originals

After adding original shows such as "Hot in Cleveland," TV Land is gaining both ratings momentum and attention from advertisers. The network added 60 new ad clients in 2010 and has 31 new advertisers so far in 2011, reports Advertising Age.

The interest in TV Land, which is readying the June debut of a third original show, has prompted the network to start a "network-replacement" strategy, the story says. Starting this summer, TV Land will sell ads on a show-specific basis, which differs from the typical cable approach of selling ads on a "run of schedule" basis," the article adds.

Even though TV Land is adding "Happily Divorced" starring Fran Drescher in June, the network is still focused on acquiring classic TV comedies, with recent additions such as "Everybody Loves Raymond."
