Oprah’s Cable Net Picks Up Wedding Reality Show With a Twist

A wedding reality program based on a BBC series has been picked up by Oprah Winfrey’s cable network, OWN, reports EW.com’s Inside TV blog.

The British version gives needy couples a big budget for the wedding, but it comes with a catch: The pair can’t see each other for a month before the wedding and the groom makes all the planning decisions, the story says. The bride doesn’t see the invitations until she receives one in the mail, and she can’t see her wedding dress until the event, the story notes.

Eight episodes of the show, "Don’t Tell the Bride," will debut on OWN in the fall, the article adds.
