Report: One of the Judges on Simon Cowell’s ‘X-Factor’ is Already Out

One of the judges on Simon Cowell’s ‘X-Factor’–set to debut on Fox this fall–is already out, TMZ reports.

The judge being replaced is Brit Cheryl Cole, who’s been a judge on the U.K. version of the show.

According to the TMZ report, "Cheryl Cole was dropped from the judging panel on "X-Factor" largely because producers were concerned her English accent would be too difficult for an American audience to understand … sources close to the production tell TMZ."

Furthermore, the article says, "There were other issues too — we’re told Cheryl and fellow judge Paula Abdul had a "lack of chemistry" … and Cheryl was more expendable."

Replacing Cole as a judge, the report says, is former Pussycat Doll lead singer–and "Dancing with the Stars" winner– Nicole Scherzinger, who had been tapped as a co-host of "The X-Factor."

  1. Bad choice. First, don’t insult our intelligence by assuming we can’t understand an English accent. I guess that means Simon has to go, too. Second, Paula Abdul is an absolute trainwreck and there’s already talk from people that she’s a big reason they’re already disinterested in the show.

  2. TMZ is the only source reporting this story, every outlet credits TMZ for the information, but yet no comments from Fox, Cowell or Cole herself, so you have to wonder, is it legit or is it some twisted publicity ploy? I for one think the excuse that American’s will have a hard time understanding her accent is ridiculous! Give us a little credit!
