HBO has asked distribution partner Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution to pull two shows from syndication, according to sources cited in a Broadcasting & Cable story.
The shows are “Entourage,” from Doug Ellin, and “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” the brainchild of “Seinfeld” co-creator Larry David. The decision is based on the poor performance by the shows in their syndicated runs.
Both shows are reportedly averaging a 0.6 live plus same day household rating in syndication. They will be pulled in fall, after runs of one season each.
The shows have been airing mainly in late-night slots, with stations reportedly planning to move them to even later spots. HBO was believed to be losing money distributing the shows.
