With two big pop stars in the lineup, NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” saw its ratings soar for the season finale, Deadline.com reported. The broadcast had a 7.0 household rating/21 share in metered markets, up 21% over last year’s finale, the story says.
The episode, which featured host Justin Timberlake and musical guest Lady Gaga, scored the highest overnight rating for an “SNL” finale since the Olsen twins and J-Kwon appeared on the finale in May 2004. That episode also had a 7.0 household rating.
The last “SNL” finale to beat that mark was in May 2000, when the show featuring Jackie Chan and Kid Rock got a 7.3.
