While USA Network has become the No. 1 cable channel thanks to lighter dramatic fare such as "Burn Notice" and "Psych," the net is making an effort to expand into sitcoms with its latest acquisition, "The Dicocco Brothers" from Kelsey Grammer’s production company, Grammnet, reports Adweek.
USA Net’s programming chief, Bill McGoldrick, told the publication, "We’re doing really, really well in our one-hour world, and we thought it was a good time to diversify. This was part of an overall strategic thing we decided on. We’re constantly looking for ways to evolve and not just repeat ourselves."
USA may position the new Grammer-produced sitcom in tandem with "Psych."
