ABC’s broadcast of Game 4 of the NBA Finals was the top-rated program on television Tuesday night, the network announced, delivering an 11.1 overnight rating.

It was the 23rd consecutive time that an NBA Finals telecast was the highest-rated show of the night. The Tuesday game was the second-highest-rated Game 4 of an NBA Finals in the past seven years, and was up 22% from Game 4 in 2006–the last time the same two teams, the Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat, met in the Finals.

Only last year’s Game 4 between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers, which had an 11.6 overnight rating, did better during the past seven years.

In Tuesday’s game, Dallas rallied in the fourth quarter to win the game 86-83, tying the series at two games apiece.

  1. Amazing! That was a great game. Both teams are really playing hard to win games.

  2. Maybe he did just have a terrible performanc¬e that confirms that he is not Jordan. So what? You can’t make the argument that Wade is better or this is Wade’s team based on just this series, ESPECIALLY after what happened in the Bulls series. This article was clearly written by one of the many haters out there who was looking for any excuse at all to destroy LeBron for The Decision, leaving Cleveland, or whatever other reason he might have for pulling for him to fail.

  3. The contrast between LeBron James having left the team that helped bring him to greatness in search of more money, and Dirk Nowitzki just having signed a deal to finish his career with the team that gave him his big break (and that he’s stuck with through thick and thin) really makes me want to see the Mavs win, if for no other reason.

  4. Go Dirk, i love you and Dalas
