‘Bachelorette’ Fuels ABC Win on Night of Soft Ratings

Airing against mostly repeat programming, ABC took a comfortable win on a night of generally soft ratings Monday night, TVbytheNumbers.com reported.

ABC’s two-hour “The Bachelorette” was the top show of the night, pushing the network to a 2.4 average rating in the 18-49 demographic for the night overall. That was well ahead of Fox (1.5 average), CBS (1.4), Univision (1.3) and NBC (1.0). ABC also came in out front in total viewers with an average of 7.2 million to 5.8 million for CBS, 4.9 million for NBC, 3.9 million for Fox and 3.3 million for Univision.

At 8 p.m. hour one of "The Bachelorette" averaged a 2.35 in the 18-49 demographic, while the premiere of Fox’s "MasterChef" had a mean score of 1.75 in the same demo for the hour.

At 9 p.m. "The Bachelorette" rose to a 2.8 average in the 18-49 demo, besting NBC’s "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" with a 0.9 in the same demo for the hour.

ABC’s "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" was tops at 10 p.m., logging a 2.15 in the 18-49 demo to top NBC’s "Law & Order: Los Angeles" with a 1.25 in the same demo.
