The new film "Bad Teacher," a comedy starring Cameron Diaz, has had its commercial TV debut rights bought by a cable channel that is making a habit of striking fast and snapping up current box-office hits, reports Deadline.com.

The channel is FX, and the deal with Sony comes as FX is assembling a list of other TV rights for new movie hits, including "Green Lantern," "Mr. Popper’s Penguins," "The Hangover Part II" and "Super 8," the story notes.

"Bad Teacher" debuted last weekend to $31 million in box-office sales, finishing second behind Disney/Pixar’s "Cars 2.”
