"30 Rock" co-star Tina Fey and NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt reacted to Tracy Morgan’s recent homophobic rant in Nashville, with Fey calling his comments "disturbing," reports Deadline.com.
Greenblatt, the first openly gay person to run a broadcast network, said in a statement, "Tracy’s comments reflect negatively on both ’30 Rock’ and NBC–two very all-inclusive and diverse organizations–and we have made it clear to him that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated," the story notes.
Greenblatt added that he was pleased Morgan apologized for his comments, as has been previously reported.
Fey said she hoped his apology would be "accepted as sincere by his gay and lesbian co-workers at ‘30 Rock,’ without whom Tracy would not have lines to say, clothes to wear, sets to stand on, scene partners to act with, or a printed-out paycheck from accounting to put in his pocket."
Tracy can say whatever he wants. He (and all of us) should realize though, that there are CONSEQUENCES to what we say and do. I don’t care what kind of “hateful” things anyone says…just don’t be surprised if there’s payback.
