Just two weeks before "Criminal Minds" was scheduled to start production on its seventh season, star Thomas Gibson has signed a deal to return to the show, reports Deadline.com.
Gibson’s deal is a two-year pact in what the article calls the "mid-to-high seven figures," plus a signing bonus, effectively doubling his current salary.
The down-to-the-wire negotiations caused some stress on the CBS show, where the writers were working on scripts for next season without knowing whether Gibson’s character, Supervisory Special Agent Aaron Hotchner, would return.
