"Rescue Me" star Denis Leary is plotting his next television project, an adaptation of the British action comedy "Sirens" for USA Network, reports Deadline.com.

Leary and Bob Fisher will collaborate on the half-hour comedy about a group of paramedics. It will be produced with Fox TV Studios. Leary will be working on the script and production, but is not expected to star in the U.S. version of "Sirens."

USA is actively developing half-hour comedies in anticipation of the off-network launch of "Modern Family."

Leary’s current series, FX’s "Rescue Me," will premiere July 13 for its seventh and final season.
