The star of a popular Showtime series was rushed to the hospital after a reported overdose of prescription medication that is suspected to be a suicide attempt, Reuters reports.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers, the star of Showtime’s "The Tudors," was found Tuesday, June 28, in his London home by paramedics responding to a call for help. He was reportedly slumped on the floor and in distress.

The Sun reported that Scotland Yard confirmed the event, saying, "Officers were called by London Ambulance Service following reports of a man refusing treatment. The man was taken to hospital."

Rhys Meyers departed the hospital after half an hour. On Tuesday night, the star checked into a hospital near his home. Hours later, when he was discharged, his response to media when asked about his stay was, "No comment."

In early June, the 33-year-old Rhys Meyers was at a rehab clinic in South Africa for substance abuse. It was his fifth stay at that type of facility.
