High-definition television sets are now found in two-thirds of homes, representing a 20% increase from last year, reports B&C, citing a study from Nielsen.
The report also found that consumers watched 22 more minutes of traditional TV a month in the first quarter of 2011 compared with a year earlier, although online video viewing saw a bigger bump, with consumers watching one hour and 10 minutes more per month, the story notes.
Additionally, mobile video viewing grew by 43 minutes and time-shifted viewing rose by one hour, 10 minutes.
Consumers watching the most online video have the lowest consumption of traditional media, the article adds.
