‘Today’ Anchor Slates Guest Spot on USA Dramedy

One of the anchors of NBC’s “Today” show will make a guest appearance on a scripted show on the USA Network, TVLine.com reports.

The medical dramedy "Royal Pains" will have a visit from "Today’s" Matt Lauer, according to the story. The episode will feature Lauer as himself, trying to vacation in the Hamptons while Evan, played by Paulo Costanzo, pesters him for a profile on "Today" about HankMed, the story says.

The episode is called "Ta Da For" and will also feature guest stars Kyle Howard and Tony Hale. It is scheduled to air Aug. 7.
