ABC is developing a crime drama from ABC Studios and John Lee Hancock, the talented director and screen writer of the hit "The Blind Side," according to The Hollywood Reporter’s The Live Feed blog.

The project is said to center on a Walter Mitty-type of lead character, and is based on a 1939 short story by James Thurber about a book editor who imagines himself leading adventurous lives, the story says.

“’Transformers’ producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Dan McDermott, his partner at their recently launched Di Bonaventura Pictures Television shingle, are on board as nonwriting executive producers,” the story reports.
