The judges on NBC’s "America’s Got Talent" are criticizing the show for its response to an on-set accident in which a tumbler wiped out and fell inches from a metal ring of flames, reports the New York Post.
“He was lying there, and I didn’t see anybody with a fire extinguisher,” said judge Howie Mandel, who described the incident as "scary."
Judge Sharon Osbourne said, "It took too long" to help after a member of the squad Gymkana caught his foot on the flaming ring, causing his teammate Warren Hull to fall, the story notes.
A show representative said the performers were wearing suits with a flame-retardant spray and added that no injuries occurred, the story notes.
What is Howie taking about? I just watched the clip on Yahoo and a stagehand come out almost immediately with a fire extinguisher in-hand. I think the backstage crew would have “safety-first” in their minds. Just worry about the judging, Howie!
