Natalie Portman is adapting "Scruples," a novel by Judith Krantz, for ABC with Tony Krantz, the novelist’s son and former CEO of Imagine Television, reports Deadline.com.

Tony Krantz, who has focused on directing feature films in recent years, is again getting serious about television. He has seven other projects set up at various networks, including a drama set in the New York restaurant world that is executive produced by celebrity chef Mario Batali, the story says.

Another project is an action drama about a foreign correspondent that’s executive produced by former CNN President Jonathan Klein, the story notes.
