A former cast member of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” is making the move from late-night to daytime for a stint on CBS’s “The Talk,” Deadline.com reports.

Molly Shannon will appear as a guest host for the month of September, the story reports. Shannon spent six years on “SNL.”

She joins a show whose lineup is in flux, with Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete both leaving the show and veteran Sharon Osbourne due to take some time off this season. Shannon will be appearing with newcomer Sheryl Underwood along with returnees Osbourne, Sara Gilbert and Julie Chen.

Kardashians matriarch Kris Jenner is also set for a run on the show, where she will fill in for Osbourne.

  1. Should have gotten rid of Melissa Gilberts and not Leah Remini!
Leah brought flavor to the show! Perhaps Les Moonves just wants bland and boring like Julie Chen seems to be?!

  2. Sara Gilbert not Melissa

  3. Very, very disappointed to find out Leah and Holly are no longer on the show. In my opinion, they are what made The Talk work. Not impressed with the new cast at all.
    Just saying…..

  4. loved the cast Sara and Leah: showed female friends in a GREAT way Doris So FL

  5. The “new” Talk Cast…BORING! Leah & Holly were a HUGE part of the original success of the show…Sara & Julie just don’t contribute the same way…You need qiuck, witty!! The person responsible for the change choice made a BIG MISTAKE!
    Going back to the View!

  6. I was completely surprised to turn on the Talk today and see that Leah and Holly were gone. I’ve watched the show today for 20 minutes and I’m already snoring. I don’t like either of the new members and I LOVED Leah – Holly was great as well.

  7. The show is just not the same and I like Molly Shannon as an actress. It is a shame that she’s getting caught up in all of this. These women look tense now…everyone is afraid to say anything because they are afraid they will be next. Julie Chen seems to laugh at the dumbest things now and you can tell it’s such a fake laugh…she’s just putting on a show to make people think this is the best season…it is NOT! The way CBS and Julie Chen treated not only Holly and Leah, but the viewers was just wrong. We and they deserve to know why…instead they have just gone on like Holly and Leah was never on the show…this is what is making people mad and keeping us mad…The should have addressed this right from the beginning. Holly and Leah brought warmth and fun to this show, now the show is just filled with tension and poor jokes.

  8. Sarah Gilbert mentioned on the first episode that she thought up the idea for the show (though not a very original one) and she has since mentioned that she is one of the producers. I doubt that Sarah Gilbert will be leaving the show. I like hearing about her unique vegan lifestyle and often differing point of view, but she isn’t the best question asker-er or transition-er or prompter reader. Anywho, I like the guest co-hosts at the moment (what would the show be without a funny black lady?), but not cool is the mum explanation of where the two previous co-hosts are.

  9. I am lost for words. Why was Holly and Leah taken off the show. These two ladies made the show what it is with their wit. I seldom watch anymore

  11. I watched the The talk show today and I was totally surprised how messy and tacky it has become ! The changes from Holly and Lea was a bad mistake. Who on earth is that big mouth black woman wearing jeans and a k-mart blouse ? The show had some glamour and now they are worse than The View. Why don’t they put some decent clothes on that big mouth woman. She takes over the entire topic, barely giving the others a chance to respond…where on earth did they find that tacky a%% woman ? Whereever she came from, they need to send her back. How can such a decent show switch from good to bad in such a short length of time ? WHAT A MESS !

  12. Sheryl Underwood as a new cast member of “The Talk” will keep the show strong in its ratings. Just getting to know Sheryl other than an adult material comedian. She is funny, drown to earth and sensible with intensity, passion & integrity. Love this side of her. However, would like to see BOTH Sheryl and Leah together -what a great blast of entertament that would be!

  14. I hate the fact Leah and Holly arent on the show, my whole reason for watching. If the network is trying to get more viewers they were the ones and sara to reach the ladies in their 30’s out here to watch the show. we all grew up with sara gilbert and holly robinson, but everyone loved King of Queens and also grew up with Leah in other shows on tv. Putting Sheryl Underwood on the show was STUPID. All i picture her saying is “Catfish, turnip greens and monkey bread” from her role on Beauty Shop. She played a good part in that, but she doesnt fit in with the the other ladies. Why dont you try to get Jennie Garth or tiffany amber theissan on the show. Women who were watched on tv during the 90’s, thats the majority of the stay at home moms right now. but bring leah back, her way of telling it true is what we like.

  15. I have stop watching the talk. It was great with Holly and Leah. Juli and sarah are soooo! BORING! Now it is just a train wreck waiting to happen with juli and sarah driving. Booo! To this show now.
