Guitarist Neal Schon of the rock band Journey and TV personality Michaele Salahi opened up about their romance to the Daily Beast, with Schon calling all the media attention created by Salahi’s husband Tareq "really quite embarrassing."

As previously reported, Tareq Salahi called authorities several times last week to report his wife missing, although it turns out that Michaele Salahi had run off with Schon. The Salahis drew attention for their alleged White House dinner party crashing and subsequent roles on "The Real Housewives of D.C."

Schon said he had been waiting for Salahi for 15 years and described their romance as "like a fairy tale," the story says. The couple say they had been texting each other "for a while," the piece says.

“Neal was like, ‘Are we going to do this forever?’ And I said, ‘No, we’re not,’” Michaele Salahi said. “I began to see he really loved me. I had to begin to feel it completely — in my soul.” She decided to leave her husband then, the story says.
