One of the heroes of the Wild West — who was already the subject of a popular TV series in the 1950s — will ride again in a new Fox drama series, TheWrap.com reports.
Fox has ordered a project focused on Marshal Wyatt Earp, with the co-creators of "Fringe," Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, along with Heather Kadin, executive producing. It will be penned by "The Shield’s" John Hlavin, who is also executive producing.
The project will present famous incidents from Earp’s life, such as the gunfight at the O.K. Corral, while also focusing on his relationship with his brothers and Doc Holliday.
The legendary Western lawman was also the focus of "The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp," which ran on ABC for six seasons, from 1955-1961. That series, which starred Hugh O’Brian, is often credited alongside “Gunsmoke” and others with helping to bring about the era of the adult TV Western.
