After "The Walking Dead" creator Frank Darabont left the AMC series, there was concern that the show would struggle under its new showrunner, Glen Mazzara. But Mazzara and other executive producers held a press review and screening Thursday to dispel some of those fears, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker blog.

"There’s been concern that I’m going to [mess] up the show," Mazzara conceded. "There’s no different vision. We plotted the season under Frank. He’s a terrific guy. I loved working with him."

Mazzara, who has worked on "The Shield" and "Crash," started working with Darabont after he wrote the fifth episode of the zombie series. He said the transition since Darabont’s July departure has been smooth, noting, "A show could collapse, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. We’re working through it. The material continues to be good."
