Oprah Winfrey’s OWN cable network is bringing in a veteran programmer to help put the network on track, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
OWN has tapped former Lifetime executive Susanne Daniels, who will work as an executive consultant and report to OWN Presidents Erik Logan and Sheri Salata, the story notes.
Daniels previously stepped down from Lifetime, where she had served as president of entertainment, to spend more time with her family, the piece adds.
Daniels brings experience in cable as well as in broadcast — she served as president of programming for the WB network before working at Lifetime — to help develop programming for OWN, the piece adds.
While OWN debuted to strong ratings in January, viewers have since left the network, which has fallen short of expectations, the story notes.
