A popular girl group will be the focus of a new reality show on the TV Guide network, reports Deadline.com. The group is Wilson Phillips, which had a big hit in 1990 with "Hold On."
The group, made up of Chynna Phillips, Carnie Wilson and Wendy Wilson, have been reunited for a while. The show will deal with their attempting a comeback after the splash they made in the summer movie hit "Bridesmaids."
Currently, Carnie Wilson is on ABC’s summer series "Karaoke Battle USA," and Chynna Phillips will be a contestant on the new season of ABC’s "Dancing With the Stars." The trio recorded a Christmas album in 2010 and have been touring.
TV Guide Network has ordered a pilot for the reality show, which will premiere later this year. It’s produced by RelativityREAL.
How exciting!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I have gone without cable for several years after dropping it to see if it could be done by someone who has been a TV guy since birth. Between high speed internet and the rising number of over the air digital channels, it wound up be easier than I thought. I took AT&T up on their offer recently and have been amazed at how much real crap there is on cable. I mean, I was watching a lot of cable programming via the internet and working in the industry I knew all of the stories in the trades but man, it’s even worse than I thought. The sheer amount of stuff being produced to just fill air time is astounding. And that’s what this is – air time filler.
