Rumor has it that Regis Philbin, the Emmy-winning co-host of the syndicated talk show "Live with Regis and Kelly" who will be exiting the show in November, is headed for a reality show. But Philbin says there’s no truth to that rumor, OK magazine reports.
Philbin told the magazine he toyed with reality and didn’t care for the experience. "I went out with a camera to do a little two-minute thing to just get the feel. And uh, it’s not for me. I guess it’s not for me. It didn’t feel right," he said.
Wife Joy Philbin added that the test was "an experiment, more or less."
Pouring more cold water on the rumors, Regis said: “There was never a pilot made. … It was an experiment for a couple of hours one afternoon and then they edited it all together to two minutes."
Regis added that before he leaves "Live," there is one superstar left that he desperately wants to interview — Barbra Streisand.
Joy pointed out, "You know, we were at a party with her a couple weeks ago and there was somebody else asking her to do his show, you know."
Regis continued, "I never would have asked her anyways. It can never come from me. But if you’re asking me who’s left, who would I like to, it would be Barbra Streisand.”
