Showtime announced that it has filled its top communications position, Deadline.com reports. Taking the job of executive VP, Corporate Communictions, is longtime public relations executive Trisha Cardoso.

Cardoso takes over the position previously held by Richard Licata, who left Showtime when Robert Greenblatt hired him to run NBC Entertainment communications, the story says.

Cardoso has been out of the media circus for the last eight years, spending time running her own consulting firm and raising a daughter. Previously, she was a SVP of publicity for Paramount Network TV.

Cardoso will guide Showtime’s programming publicity, media and talent relations, events, corporate branding and public relations. She will also serve as Showtime Networks’ communications liaison with parent company CBS Corp., and as the company’s chief press officer.
