Well-Known Agency Research Guru Takes New Post

ION Media Networks announced that it has named a veteran television research executive as its new senior vice president, sales research.

Steve Sternberg will fill the newly created position, and will report to Stephen Appel, president of sales for ION Media Networks. Sternberg will be based in New York.

He comes to ION with more than 25 years of experience in television research, including working with Magna Global, TN Media and Bozell. 

In a statement, Appel said: “Steve’s smart, innovative practices and contribution to sales research over the years have made him a leader in the industry. We are eager for Steve to join our team and provide us the insight necessary to support ION’s sales growth.”

The company stated: “Sternberg and his team will be responsible for proactively developing and implementing innovative sales research presentations and audience analysis to support the Company’s sales efforts, including creating presentations for agencies and clients.”

Sternberg has worked with ION as a consultant during the past year, including developing ION’s research unit the Consumer Value Index, among other research tools.
