A recent “American Idol” champion has been dropped by his record label, TMZ.com reports. RCA Records, whose roster includes a number of “Idol” stars, dumped Lee DeWyze, the winner of season 9 of the Fox show.
A representative for DeWyze indicated the singer is OK with it. DeWyze, the rep said, is “in a good place right now” and has a number of projects in the works.
RCA is also the recording label of “Idol” performers Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks, the story notes.
