Shonda Rhimes, the creator, writer and executive producer of "Grey’s Anatomy," has sold a new continuing drama called "The Circle" to ABC, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The hour drama is described as part soap and part thriller, dealing with a group of 10 friends who have been adopted by a billionaire. When one of the friends is murdered, the group is determined to learn more about their lives and why they were brought together.
Rhimes is executive producing with Betsy Beers. Richard Robbins will pen the project and executive produce. This is the fourth sale this season by Rhimes’ company Shondaland.
