With "Arrested Development" creator Mitch Hurwitz planning a limited-run series, streaming service Hulu is making a play for the new TV episodes of the canceled but beloved comedy, reports New York Magazine’s Vulture blog.

Fox canceled "Arrested Development" in 2006 because of low ratings, but the show has remained popular on DVD and online, which is why Netflix and now Hulu are both interested in the new episodes, the story says.

Hulu has received 100 million streaming impressions from "Arrested Development" clips, episodes and outtakes since Hulu began in 2008, the piece notes. A Hulu representative declined to comment.
