NBC has canceled another new show.

The first new series to  be canceled was NBC’s "The Playboy Club."

Now it’s the low-rated Hank Azaria/Kathryn Hahn sitcom "Free Agents."

Reports The Hollywood Reporter, "No decision has been made on what will replace ‘Free Agents.’ [Wednesday night’s episode on Oct. 5, 2011,  was] the series’ final airing. The news comes after the half-hour sitcom drew anemic numbers in its most recent outing, averaging 3.3 million viewers and a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49. In its Sept. 14 preview following ‘Up All Night’ at 10:30 p.m., the Universal Television series premiered to 6.3 million and a 2.1 rating."

The story adds, "Airing two hours earlier the following week in its regular time period – where it faced competition from the series premiere of Fox’s Simon Cowell singing competition ‘The X Factor’ and CBS’ ‘Survivor’ — the series tumbled 38 percent in the demo, attracting 3.9 million total viewers."

Separately, Nellie Andreeva at Deadline.com speculates, "[R]eruns of new comedy ‘Whitney’ are a strong possibility…I won’t be surprised if ‘Whitney’ eventually migrates to Wednesday with originals while 30 Rock rejoins NBC’s Thursday lineup."
