One of the stars of CBS’s top-rated crime drama "NCIS" has been hit with a lawsuit, reports TMZ.com. The suit against Michael Weatherly, who plays Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo on the series, involves a car wreck that happened about a year ago, the story reports.

Weatherly’s Mercedes Benz allegedly collided with Ivan Romeo Mendez’s BMW, with Mendez suffering injuries that reportedly required surgery.

Mendez is suing Weatherly for at least $80,000 in medical expenses incurred from injuries that reportedly required a rhizotomy — in which problematic nerves in the spinal cord are severed.

Mendez filed the suit in Los Angeles County Superior Court. There was no response from Weatherly’s representatives.
