NBC Owned Television Stations named a 10-year veteran of NBCUniversal as the new chief financial officer, B&C reports. Taking the job is Christine Dorfler, who has been vice president of finance for WNBC-TV in New York.

Dorfler will report to Valari Staab, the group president.

The company said in a statement that Dorfler will have "financial oversight for NBC’s 10 owned stations and their various platforms and [will] lead business strategy for the stations around all core financial processes.”

In the statement about the appointment, Staab said, "Christine has an exceptional reputation among her peers at our stations for being a leader with strong financial skills and an emphasis on achieving results. She’s also highly regarded as a particularly good manager. I am confident she is the right strategic partner for our stations as we work to increase our position in the markets we serve."

Dorfler began at NBCUniversal as manager of financial planning and analysis in the corporate finance department, the story notes.
