Another 1960s television series is being developed as a feature film, according to The Hollywood Reporter — the situation comedy about a talking horse, "Mr. Ed."
Elizabeth Gabler’s Fox 2000 acquired the film rights to "Mr. Ed" with Jim Mahoney producing for Friendly Films. Gabler has an affinity for horse projects, having produced "Flicka" in 2006.
The feature project is a pure comedy based on the TV show, which starred Alan Young as Wilbur Post, who owned a horse named Mr. Ed, voiced by longtime B-Western hero Allan “Rocky” Lane. Filmways produced the show, which aired on CBS from 1961-66 before enjoying a good run in syndication.
